Sewing BB fundraises for LoveBrum
Patent attorney at Barker Brettell, Lucy Holloway, has swapped drafting patents for making face masks in her spare time, in support of LoveBrum.
As face masks are now a necessary accessory, Lucy started making masks for friends from offcuts of material from recent dress making projects.
“The masks proved really popular with my friends and I’d had a couple of requests for masks from colleagues after featuring in the firm’s internal newsletter,” said Lucy. “I thought it would be a great way to help raise some money for our chosen charity partner, LoveBrum, and asked colleagues to donate £5 in exchange for a mask.”
LoveBrum is a Birmingham based charity that supports community and hidden gem projects across the city – shining a light on a diverse range of causes and projects which often struggle to find funding or support. The charity is currently promoting its #OneBrum campaign and hopes to raise £25,000 after smashing the £20,000 target back in June.
Lucy’s one woman enterprise is a change from her day job where she specialises in drafting and filing patents for medical inventions.
