
Senior partner John Lawrence celebrates 40 years at Barker Brettell
Anne Bate, patent paralegal & technical workflow specialist, joins John to mark their 30-year working partnership along with managing partner Yvonne Johnson.
Barker Brettell’s senior partner, John Lawrence, is celebrating 40 years with Birmingham head-quartered intellectual property firm Barker Brettell. For 30 of those 40 years Anne Bate, patent paralegal & technical workflow specialist, has worked by his side.
Commenting on his 30-year working relationship with Anne Bate, John said:

John joined the firm as a trainee patent attorney in 1984, progressing his career to become a member of Barker Brettell’s partnership board in 1992, and was appointed senior partner in 2013. He has been instrumental in developing the firm’s patent practice, ensuring that it flourishes as a thriving global business. Today he also heads the firm’s aerospace sector group and leads the secondment and in-house support initiative.
