Overview:
Lucy has more than 20 years experience as a patent attorney. With a background in chemistry, her technical specialisms include small molecule pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemical mechanical polishing slurries, carbon black, and plasma arc torch technology.
Lucy heads up the firm’s Medical Sector and Chemistry team and works with a broad range of clients. She has particular experience in providing global portfolio management and strategy advice to large pharmaceutical companies.
Lucy prides herself on providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice and has worked with many of her clients for a large part of her career.
Experience:
- Prosecuting all of the European patent applications for a US chemical mechanical polishing slurry company and acting as part of their IP team working to get their patent applications through to grant. Giving honest and straightforward advice on issues that arise allowing the best choices to be made by the client for their business.
- Filing and prosecuting in a large variety of countries a number of families of patent applications relating to small molecule pharmaceuticals. Tracking the actions taken to ensure consistency of approach, taking the hard work out of this task for the client.
- Working with a small company on a new medical device. Obtaining patent protection in all markets of interest to them. The patents are successfully licensed to a large medical device company
