Exam success for Barker Brettell’s patent team
We are pleased to welcome David Combes and Neil Kilpatrick to the ranks of fully qualified UK patent attorneys. Both are now Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys following success in the recent qualifying examinations.

David has prosecuted patent applications for inventions related to aerospace, fuel systems, oil and gas, defence, semiconductors, laboratory instruments and Microsystems. He worked as an inventor at QinetiQ before joining the patent profession in 2010.
Neil’s expertise is varied, having worked extensively in the areas of medical devices, mechanical inventions, automotive, semiconductors and lithography. Neil joined Barker Brettell in 2013 after several years training at another large firm of patent attorneys.
